Okay, so I have a red ear slider turtle, and lately when we set her out to play around on the carpet, she tries to do this digging thing. We think it is because she wants to lay eggs. So we were trying to decide if we should make a thing of sand for her or a thing of dirt.
NOTE: When we took her outside, she seemed to like the mulch/soil more than our sandbox sand.
All tips appreciated. Thanks ![]()
Well dirt works if its loose and your turtle likes it

All turtles lay there eggs in sand and then bury them. When born the babies run out
towards the ocean.

Sand, or loose mulch.
Those eggs need some oxygen or they die.
